Country Cottage Christmas Home TourOh, my goodness! Time is drawing near so I thought I’d put together our Christmas Home Tour 2015 before everyone arrived! Christmas Eve is always an exciting time for all of us here at the Crossroads for so many reasons. The house is all decorated, and I think our little country cottage looks its best at this time of year.

Christmas Front Porch | Cottage at the CrossroadsI go all out decorating the front porch because we are usually able to enjoy it during our mild South Carolina winters. As you can see, our front porch decorations reflect our gardening interests. Country Cottage Christmas Front Porch | Cottage at the CrossroadsThe tree has ornaments created with vintage seed catalog artwork as well as a grow bag skirt!

gardening Santa | Cottage at the CrossroadsHere you will find the most adorable gardening Santa on Earth! You can see more details in the post: A Cottage Garden Christmas Porch

Christmas mantel | Cottage at the CrossroadsWhen you enter our home, the first thing you see is our mantel.

deer under a cloche | Cottage at the CrossroadsOn the coffee table is a simple woodland scene with a little ceramic deer. The base is a terracotta pot saucer that I painted white and added some Epsom salt and white glitter to give it a snowy effect.

white dove and peace sign | Cottage at the CrossroadsTo the right of the mantel, I created a vignette with a peaceful theme.

Christmas village houses painted white | Cottage at the CrossroadsUnderneath the dove is a peaceful looking lighted snowy village town. I found the houses at the auction that we attend all the time last year.

They were a bit too colorful for my taste so I painted them white and gave them the same Epsom salt and white glitter treatment.

green buffalo plaid tree skirt and Christmas tree | Cottage at the Crossroadsto the table skirt, some pillows, and the tree!

green and white Christmas tree | Cottage at the CrossroadsThe ornaments on the tree are a mix of a collection of white and green Santas  along with a few new ornaments.

ornaments on a green and white Christmas tree | Cottage at the CrossroadsI’ve been collecting the white Santas ever since Leo and I met.

white Santa tree topper | Cottage at the CrossroadsThe collection was inspired by this white Santa tree topper that we put on our first tree that we put up as a couple.

green Santa and green grain sack ornament | Cottage at the CrossroadsThe green Santas were added later because I’ve always had a “thing” for green! The star ornament was sent to me by my sweet blogging friend Ann from On Sutton  Place. She made it from a rare green grain sack and sent it and a few others that she made from it to me because……she knows I’m such a green lover!

green buffalo plaid pillow | Cottage at the CrossroadsThe pine cone pillow is new as well. I ordered it from Joss and Main to tie in with the huge pine cones that I used on the mantel.

wooden deer and trees | Cottage at the CrossroadsHere’s another pine cone taking a ride on the back of this wooden deer in front of the fireplace, but there will be no lighting of the fire this Christmas Eve. We’ve been having unseasonably warm weather here.

gingerbread tree | Cottage at the CrossroadsIn the kitchen is a new gingerbread tree. In the fall, the little tree served as a Halloween Tree for the Kitchen

gingerbread tree ornaments | Cottage at the CrossroadsNow it holds all the gingerbread ornaments that I’ve started collecting over the past few years.

Christmas tea towels | Cottage at the Crossroads

Some new tea towels brighten up the area above the range.

handmade gingerbread boy | Cottage at the Crossroads

The handmade gingerbread boy and girl are hanging on the cabinets in the corners of the kitchen.Wish I could show you a better photos of them but it’s been cloudy and raining for days.

gingerbread house and baking Santa | Cottage at the Crossroads

And the gingerbread house and the baking Santa are sweetening up this corner of the kitchen.

nativity set | Cottage at the CrossroadsThe nativity set has a special place in our family room to remind us of the reason for the season.  I hope you’ve enjoyed the Christmas tour of our home. Part of our family has already arrived so our little cottage if full right now, and my heart is definitely full, too!

Leo and I wish you a very merry and blessed Christmas!
